Stair Construction Settings - Constraints tab

Used to define the constraints that limit the stair parameter values entered during construction.

Tip: By default the constraint properties are disabled to prevent accidental changes in the values. Alterations can be done with the Edit Constraint Definition tool on the Constraint menu bar.
SettingDescription
Attach Constraint Definition The Default definition sets the default constraints.
Tip: You can create new constraints by setting the constraint criteria for the current constraint properties. Saved constraints get appended as an object in the constraint definition list. The new constraint group gets amended as object in the StairConstraints.xml file, located in the datagroupsystem folder.
New Constraint Definition Opens the New Stair Constraints dialog where you enter a name and description for the new constraint.

Newly defined constraint items are listed on . You can choose one of the constraints to apply to a stair.
Edit Constraint Definition Enables the properties on the Constraints tab for editing. You can then edit the constraints to suit the requirements of your design.
Save Constraint Definition Saves the updated constraint definitions. The updated values of a constraint definition are saved to the StairConstraints.xml file.
Delete Constraint Definition Deletes user defined constraint definitions. The selected constraint item is removed from .
Constraint Name Sets the custom constraint name to new items being defined.
Constraint Description Displays the constraint description.
Tread Depth Minimum Sets the lower limit for the tread depth in working units.
Tread Depth Maximum Sets the higher limit for the tread depth in working units.
Riser Height Minimum Sets the lower limit for the riser height in working units.
Riser Height Maximum Sets the higher limit for the riser height in working units.
(2(Riser Height) + Tread Depth) Minimum Sets the ration for Riser and Tread minimum value. The value is worked out with the architectural equation:

2(R)+T

(2(Riser Height) + Tread Depth) Maximum Sets the ration for Riser and Tread maximum value.
(Riser Height + Tread Depth) Minimum Sets the sum ration for Riser and Tread minimum value. You may set it from default 0 to a value suitable in stair calculation. The value is worked out with the architectural equation:

(R+T)

(Riser Height + Tread Depth) Maximum Sets the sum ration for Riser and Tread maximum value. You may set it from default 0 to a value suitable in stair calculation.
(Riser Height x Tread Depth) Minimum Sets the ration for Riser and Tread minimum value. You may set it from default 0 to a value suitable in stair calculation. The value is worked out with the architectural equation:

(R*T)

(Riser Height x Tread Depth) Maximum Sets the ration for Riser and Tread maximum values. You may set it from default 0 to a value suitable in stair calculation.
Slope Minimum Sets the stair slope angle minimum value. The value restricts the elevation from going down the lower limit of the slope.
Slope Maximum Sets the stair slope angle maximum value. The value restricts the elevation from going up the higher limit of the slope.
